Choosing between them

The north is the part of Albania that feels least like anywhere else in the Mediterranean, and it has a genuinely short season.

The south has the beaches, the ruins and the two stone cities, and it is much easier to travel in.

Two weeks lets you do both. One week does not, comfortably — the drive between Shkodër and Sarandë is the length of the country.
